| Kinabalu National Park |

The National Park is approximately 2 hour's drive from Kota Kinabalu. The area features an interesting diversity of flora, due to the mountainous terrain.This Park is one of Sabah's greatest attractions. Within its boundaries are the lowland rainforest of the tropical zone, montane oaks and fig trees, rhododendron shrubs and wild berries of the temperate zone, conifers and alpine-like associations of the summit zone. Mt Kinabalu, the summit of Borneo stands at 4,101 metres. At the foot of the mountains lie Poring Hot Springs, the site of sulphur baths. Mt Kinabalu is a challenging climb, and is a favourite of trekkers because of the spectacular sunrises from the highest peak in Borneo.

| Turtle Island Park |
 |
Selingan Island is north-west of Sandakan. The island is a green jewel among a sea of clear blue, and is the nesting ground to the Green and Hawksbill Turtles. Rangers control the visits to the nesting sites of these creatures to minimise human impact.

Undisputed for wildlife, Danum Valley Rainfirest Lodge offers visitors a chance to explore the rainforest. The centre is well-organised with a Field Centre, well-marked trails, a 40-metre high tree platform and guided day and night nature trails.
