| Day 02 : Kuching City Tour – Crocodile Farm (B / L) | ||

BREAKFAST AT THE HOTEL. KUCHING CITY TOUR - A 3 hour Kuching City Tour includes visits to the Sarawak Museum, Kuching Waterfront, Tua Pek Kong Temple – the oldest Taoist Temple in Sarawak, Old State Mosque, Old Courthouse area, photo-stops at the Cat Monuments and rides pass the various historical places and of course a Kuching City Tour would not be complete without stops at a Pottery Factory to see how beautiful pots are hand-made and hand-painted; and a bird’s nest outlet. LUNCH AT A TYPICAL KUCHING COFFEE-SHOP. CROCODILE FARM TOUR – 29 km from Kuching City is Jong’s Crocodile Farm. | Day 03 : Bako National Park (B / L) | ||

BREAKFAST AT THE HOTEL. DAY TRIP TO BAKO NATIONAL PARK - Depart for a full-day tour of Bako National Park via land and boat transfers. This is Sarawak’s oldest and smallest national park and is famous for its Proboscis Monkeys whose mysterious lifestyles were recently captured by photographers from National Geographic. The Park is a showcase for exquisite flora and fauna – from Mangrove swamps of the wetlands, to the dipterocarp forests of the hills, to the carnivorous plants of the dry and desolate plateau. Lunch at the Park Canteen. Trek the Park and wonder at the truly beautiful wind-swept formations of the rocks. The Park is home to many species of monkey, including the shy Silver Leaf and the bold Kera. Return back to Kuching in the afternoon. (departure time from the park depends very much on the tide.) | Day 04 : Overnight Trip to an Iban Longhouse in Lemanak (B / L / D) | ||

BREAKFAST AT THE HOTEL. CHECK-OUT. OVERNIGHT TRIP TO LEMANAK - A 4 hour drive from the city brings you to a jetty at Lemanak where native longboats await to bring you up river to Nangga Kesit Longhouse. (Life jackets will be provided.) Settle down at the resthouse next to the actual longhouse. A brief tour of the surrounding area. Dinner is prepared by your guide, at the kitchen of the resthouse. After dinner, stroll back to the longhouse to witness the “Ngajat” where beautiful young maidens dance to the beating of the gongs and “engkerumong”. There will also be a mini market set up for you to buy or just have a look at the souvenirs made by the people at the longhouse. Spend the night at the resthouse. |

After breakfast, witness a blow-pipe & cock-fighting demonstration. Then it’s time to bid farewell to the longhouse folks. By longboat across the river to another Jetty where your coach awaits. | Day 06 : Kuching / Miri / Mulu National Park (B / L / D) | ||

TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT FOR THE 1st FLIGHT TO MIRI (Please book KCH / MYY flight on www.malaysiaairlines.com ) ARRIVE MIRI TO CONNECT THE 1ST FLIGHT TO MULU. (Please book MYY / MZV flight on www.malaysiaairlines.com ) ARRIVE MULU NATIONAL PARK AIRPORT. TRANSFER TO ROYAL MULU RESORT. LUNCH AT A CANTEEN NEARBY. AFTER LUNCH, Proceed to Lang's Cave - the smallest of the 4 show caves of Mulu, but the rock formations here are well worth seeing. Next, to the largest cave passage in the world - Deer Cave. The main chamber is 174 metres wide and 122 metres high. Although the path leading into the cave is lit, a flashlight is useful to see where you are walking (guano-covered floor!). You will come to a place where you can see the "Garden of Eden". You will see how truly beautiful and peaceful the place is to be given such a name. It is also at Deer Cave that you will see a rock resembling the features of Abraham Lincoln. Depending on the weather, the awesome sight of millions of bats emerging out of their abode , late afternoon, in search of food will definitely take your breath away. | Day 07 : Mulu National Park (B / L / D) | ||

BREAKFAST AT THE RESORT. A ride by longboat takes you to the Penan Settlement. Tour the area and see how the Penans go about their daily routine. Handicrafts made by the Penans are on display here. The boat ride continues we reach the plankwalk leading from the Melinau River to the entrance of Wind Cave to view the impressive stalactites, stalagmites, flowrocks and helitites. Next we visit Asia's longest cave - Clearwater Cave. Marvel at the crystal clear stream that flows out of the cave. An excellent swimming spot! Packed lunch is served. Back to the Resort after lunch. | Day 09 : Kota Kinabalu – Kinabalu Park – Poring (B / L ) | ||

BREAKFAST AT THE HOTEL DAY TRIP TO KINABALU PARK - Drive 2 hours overland (88 km) through paddy-fields and Dusun villages over the ridges of the Crocker Range to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu at 5,000ft. A short stop at Nabalu market to savour local fruits in season . At Kinabalu Park World Heritage Site, visit the Education Centre and Mountain Garden , home to various species of the flowering Rhododendrons, carnivorous pitcher plants, orchids, ferns, oak trees and birds. Temperature at the park is around 25°C. Continue 40 km overland journey to Poring, 1,500ft asl. Explore tropical rainforest among the jungle trail leading to the treetop canopy walkways (excludes camera/video fee) suspended 41 meters above the forest floor across giant Mengaris trees. | Day 10 : Kota Kinabalu / Sandakan – Selingan Turtle Island (B / L / D) | ||

TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT FOR THE 1ST FLIGHT TO SANDAKAN. (Please book BKI / SDK flight on www.malaysiaairlines.com ) Arrive Sandakan before 0800 hours. Transfer to jetty for the 1-hour speedboat ride to Selingan Island . Check into chalet. Free at leisure to explore island, swim and snorkel. After dinner, wait for signal from the Park Ranger before proceeding in small groups to watch Green Turtle lay eggs on the beach, transplanting of eggs to hatchery and release of baby turtles to the sea. Return to Sandakan by boat, and transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre for a video show. Trek ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden plank walks to witness the feeding of the orang utans at 1000hrs. Continue to Sandakan jetty for 2½ hours boat journey to multi awards winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah 's longest river, Kinabatangan with opportunity to view birds and wildlife in virgin mangrove, wetland and rainforest habitats. Late afternoon take a river cruise using electric motor in search of some of the 10 primate species . Sukau is home to Borneo pygmy elephants, orang utans, proboscis monkeys and all eight species of hornbill in Borneo . Return for solar heated hot shower, candle light dinner overlooking the riverbank and slide show conducted by naturalist guide. | Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills. A 0600hrs morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed for an educational tour on the Hornbill Boardwalk located behind the lodge with our in-house naturalist. You also have the option to participate in our Kinabatangan Wildlife Corridor Regeneration Programme (KWICORP) by planting trees on our 65 acres adopted land. In the afternoon, we proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife. After dinner an optional night safari cruise (at a surcharge) spotting nocturnal animals, crocodiles and birds. | DAY 13 : SUKAU / SANDAKAN / KOTA KINABALU (B / L ) | ||
| After breakfast, return to Sandakan by boat journey. Have lunch before we proceed for a short tour of Sandakan town including the market, Agnes Keith Museum and Australian War Memorial.
